• LEDs are semiconductor diodes
• Semiconductors are materials with ability to conduct electrical current
• The diodes are formed by combining two different semiconductor materials to
form a PN junction ( P= charged positive( holes) and N charged negative( electrons)
• By applying current, electrons( N) are forced to move to one direction and P to the
